WHAT WE DO
Our activities
TECNALIA activities focus mainly on (bio)functionalization of surfaces, bioanalytical assays, design and integration of electrodes on flexible substrates, development of electrical and optical detection and acquisition modules and functional validation. It is collaborating in four demo cases and leading two of them (On-Chip Cell Culture Substrates and the Enzymatic Sensor for Bioreactor Control).

TECNALIA Research & Innovation is a private, independent, non-profit applied research centre of international excellence. TECNALIA is the leading private and independent research and technology organization in Spain and one of the largest in Europe, whose mission is to transform technology into GDP to improve people’s quality of life, by creating business opportunities for companies, being member of BRTA (Basque Research and Technology Alliance).

TECNALIA is involved in four Demo Cases (Demo 1, Demo 3, Demo 4 and Demo 5). The main tasks of Tecnalia in each demo case are: Design development and integration of biosensing electrodes in microfluidic platforms, biofunctionalization of polymeric surfaces applying surface chemistry modification, develop of the electrical detection and acquisition module and preliminary evaluation of the microfluidic cartridge in Demo 4. Surface modification and functionalization of the substrates, bioanalytical assay adaptation, development of optical detection and acquisition module and the functional validation of the bio analytical LOC in Demo 5. Design development and validation of wearable Li+ concentration monitoring device in Demo 3. Support on design development and integration of electrodes in microfluidic platforms in Demo 1.
