WHAT WE DO
Our activities
BNN is strongly involved in the project, addressing topics like Safety-by-Design, Quality management, Project management, Graphic Design, and Communication & Dissemination.

The BioNanoNet Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (BNN) is a non-profit research organization owned by the BioNanoNet Association that counts currently 59 member organizations that belong to various fields like Health & Safety, Data & Sustainability and Enabling Technologies. BNNs’ mission is to support and guide its members and customers towards a sustainable development of connected technologies with the vision to shape the European high-tech ecosystem to secure a sustainable and prosperous society. By integrating safety, quality and sustainability aspects already in the design phase of a new technology, we support innovative breakthroughs in all sectors. The design process enables us to reach out to the ideal option and find the best solution for each specific use case.

Within “NextGenMicrofluidics”, BNN is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project. As part of the Project Management Board, it supports the Project Coordinator (JOANNEUM RESEARCH MATERIALS – Institute for Surface Technologies and Photonics) in all administrative issues as well as communication and dissemination activities as leader of WP 2 (Dissemination & Exploitation). Moreover, BNN is responsible for the evaluation of potential hazards and safety issues in all Demo Cases as well as regulatory issues, and is closely working together with all partners. By implementing its safety strategy, the overall aim of BNN’s nanosafety team is to ensure that all aspects of the involved processes will be conform to the “Safe by Design” concept for the technological development. With regards to the Single Entry Point (SEP) of this Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB), BNN is responsible for the Quality Management Concept design.
